Judges Workshop March 27-28, 2010

Southern Yacht Club

 

Sponsored by The Southern Yacht Club, the Gulf Yachting Association (GYA) and US SAILING.

 

 The Judges Workshop and Test will be conducted by Jim Tichenor, a National Race Officer and Senior Judge, He will be assisted by Walter Chamberlain, Senior Judge and Chris Luppens, the Administrative Judge for the GYA who is also a Senior Judge. Advance registration by March 21, 2010 is strongly encouraged as participants are limited to 30. Fee is $65 for a US SAILING member and $95 for a non-member. Anyone seriously interested in becoming a judge is encouraged to attend as well as judges who need to take the course and test for recertification.  Taking the test is not required but strongly encouraged.

Each participant should download the latest set of study questions and work through these questions prior to the seminar. It is a critical part of the seminar and a key to passing the exam. The study questions are available here.

Cost of the seminar includes Danish and fruit each morning, coffee, tea, juice, soft drinks and water all day and cookies and brownies in the afternoon. The cost also includes lunch on Saturday.  A set dinner Saturday is optional and cost is $20 payable then.  The buffet Sunday, also optional, will be $15.

The workshop will begin at 0800 each day.
